@ Sean - I hope you got my email! From what I have experienced, it could be better for others to submit your stories instead. But if your articles are incredible reads anyway, submitting your own works just as well. I’ve seen Matt from BloggingFingers and DoshDosh doing well there, I think.

Hey YC, Maybe you can answer this for me since you are using Sphinn.

Would it matter if I submit my own story? I have read that these sites don’t like it when you submit your own like SU but not sure about Sphinn, which I just began using.

I am starting to use more social bookmarking site now just for the traffic.

Thanks for sharing your stats and advice…very interesting! I’m not comfortable with self-promotion (yet) but agree that there isn’t one formula that works for everyone. Like investing, I think it is important to DIVERSIFY self-promotion and marketing efforts.

@ Chris - You are so prominent on that site - I see you everywhere lol! And that avatar!

@ Shaun - Sure! Sphinn gave me close to 200 hits combined. I would think that if my articles were submitted more it might help, but they have to be good ones I guess.

@ Monika - I am having some problems with the icon placement as well! But I put it on hold and just accomodated it for the meantime. About the Top commentator’s thing - I have had a look through the comments and I think it picks up based on the URL tied to the commentator? You have had 5 comments since Oct, but 2 of them were tied to a specific blog post while the other 3 were to your index page. So that might have to do with it? :) Cheers for the encouragement - I appreciate it! :)

That is interesting to see, I have yet to try out spinn and am tossing ideas on where best to sit the icon on my blog.

On another note, is your top commenter’s widget ever changing at all? I seem to have left more than 4 comments in all but I never even see a mention of it anywhere?
