Which of you are either of these:
- You don’t like money, and you are reading this
- You like money, and you are reading this
Even if you are neither of the above (and chances of that are low!), you are somehow reading this now. This illustrates one thing which I saw again in action a few days ago when I posted “How A Kid Made $350,000 In 2 Hours”.
And that is, while you might have content, oftentimes you will need a decent headline to attract the millions of roving eyes on the Internet, before they decide to click on your post to find out further. That is a useful factor in trying to get more traffic to your blog.
And all the more power to you if you can come up with attention-grabbing, heart-stopping and fascinating headlines!
These are just some of the techniques I try my best to use when designing a headline for my posts:
1. Keep it short and simple, preferably within 50-60 characters (which I learnt some time ago regarding lengths of headlines - anything more than that the reader loses concentration and interest)
2. Use keywords that have been proven to attract readers, such as “Make Money Online”, “Home Business” and more.
3. Entice readers with an engaging headline, such as a “call to action”. This actually boils down to the fact that communication on all levels usually improve if you try to “engage” people in everything you do.
4. Headlines that belong in the “How to” category are widely used. They project an image of being educational, problem-solving and value-providing. And you all know what happens when you provide value.
5. 2 Negatives make a Positive - which is what I tried with this post. :) People are drawn to positivity.
With traffic-inducing headlines, your content will reach out more. And this would be a useful step towards having more people reading your blog. In the long run, it will be a crucial ingredient to traffic conversion and making money from your blog (or site, for that matter).
So if you like money, and have read this, I hope it will be helpful to you in getting what you want. :)

6Good points, your article will get clicked on if it’s got lots of diggs and stumbles, but what will get your diggs and stumbles into the hundreds? A good title would.
Your title confused me enough to read it too ;)

7Cheers Rhys! It was part experimentation as well, at the risk of not being completely related. :)
