In reality, there are many methods to create traffic for your blog. You can either pay for it, or create it through various other free ways. Many would usually go for the free methods unless they have a budget for advertising and marketing.

Ways to create free blog traffic are aplenty, but are they really as easy as they are made out to be?

In my opinion, they are! But, you have to realise that because they are FREE, they also require effort and time on your part, to create results.

John Robinson from SiteFever.com has recently written a free ebook (or article, as he prefers to call it!) entitled Blog Traffic Made Easy, not just on the many free methods that you can use to generate blog traffic, but also on other important concepts such as goal setting and using conversion targets to achieve this. There are also various sections on fundamental techniques such as pingbacks, which many aspiring bloggers overlook. Another useful part of the ebook is the list of Wordpress plugins which you can use and tinker with to promote traffic - I hopped on 2 of them just from reading the ebook!

One section in which John has elaborated on, and which I believe firmly in, is that on the promotion and marketing of your blog. Many experts talk about techniques, but they do not generally mention the concepts behind the techniques, and how they work. Blog Traffic Made Easy goes over many simple promotional tactics that he has used himself, including one personal trick of his own. Before this, I had forgotten all about using chatrooms to promote your blog! There are also ideas on ‘covert’ methods such as building brands of your own by generating a buzz, such as SiteFever.com’s Favourite of the Week.

The only criticism I might have on Blog Traffic Made Easy is the wordy aspect of it. It might have been better with more whitespace and perhaps a couple more pictures. Despite this, the content is very well-written and still an enjoyable and ultimately useful read.
