1. Having made so many great friends from Stumbledom, I now worry about how much coffee I have to buy them. Remember folks - being kind gets you coffee.
2. The traffic that I now so humbly receive from stumblers, I secretly wish for more each passing day and despair when I see none.
3. I enjoy spreading the word about great content through StumbleUpon so much that sometimes, I forget what Digg, reddit, delicious and the other networks are.
4. There are so many benefits from using it that I have developed an obsessive compulsion to blog about it.
5. Having been the epitome of humility, I now aspire to be a god. A StumbleUpon God.
6. It constantly nags me on the age-old cliche that success comes from making mistakes. So we who stumble, stride on the path to success.
7. Showing people the “thumbs up” sign and smiling while walking down the street is now a habit.
Yet despite all the above, the addictive urge to click on that button is quite overwhelming. I wonder how many of you hate it as much as I do, so much so that it could well develop into a classic love-hate relationship of spreading the (useful) word.

1This is just my opinion but I think you have to work pretty hard to get lots of traffic from StumbleUpon.

2There you go…a catchy Stumbleriffic post about SU :)
“So we who stumble, stride on the path to success.” Love that line!

3I am still trying to figure out how to really generate traffic from it effectively.
What must you do to become a Stumbleupon God?

4@ Warrior - Which makes it all the more rewarding! But really, it is a great community and the work doesn’t feel hard at all :)
@ Dana - Just to let you know I can go beyond being corny. ;) Thanks for the stumble!
@ Chessnoid - Check out http://www.StumbleGods.com - the secrets are there ;)

6haha, point 2 is great. I had a stumble spike of traffic for a recent post I made and I managed to catch the tail end of it with camtasia, at one point there was 141 visitors viewing at the same time!
I’ll make a post about it later this week with screen grabs and video of the live hits coming in.
now I too despair when no stumble traffic comes in and I’m always on the lookout for the ‘next thing’ to write about that would have the same effect!

7I still don’t understand how stumbleupon algorithm works. One day, I had a lot of thumbs up and received xxxx hits but a few days later, I got fewer thumbs up, yet I received xxxxx hits ( more hits).

9Hehehe, this is too good. To be or not to be a SU god, that is the question!?!
ps. Stumbled! ;c)

13Thanks everyone for the comments! :)
@ Helmi - Sure why not? You never know there might be people who’d like what you write!
@ Andy - Yes, while I slightly disagree that content is king, but it is just as critical - I’d love to see that video soon!
@ Cherry - I don’t understand the algorithm either! But one factor is also that depending on the ones who gave a thumbs up - whether they are active stumblers etc, and their network reach.
@ Baron - It’s all Dana’s fault. ;)
@ GnomeyNewt - Cheers! :) I might never get there but a demi-god might just do!
@ Chris - Cheers Chris! I look forward to it! :)
@ Tinu - Thanks! I sure hope it was worth your time! :)

19@ Shaun - Nah, you’d have thought of it sooner or later. I just got there first. ;)
@ Online Money - it really depends on the SU algorithm, and the content plays a part in that. Don’t worry about it - the bottomline is that it does play a part traffic-wise and the community is nice.
@ Mcrilf - Wow! Glad that it could do that for you, Matt! Thanks so much for the stumble and sphinn too! :)
@ David - I confess. The first step to rehabilitation is admitting that you have an addiction. But I am not sure if I want to be rehabilitated.
@ Tinu - I’m very glad that it was, and many thanks for the stumble! :)
