@ Cherry & Z - Unfortunately as with anything that concerns money, there will be scammers out to make a quick buck. However, if a person allows that to cloud his/her judgment in a way that everything is to be taken cynically, then progress will be hampered.

@ Ken - Dude, are you sure you haven’t found the best way to monetize your blog? Looks pretty good to me :)

@ Heather - well sometimes it’s not to do with the lack of trying, but the lack of time :)

@ Vic - Hey Vic thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! I appreciate that! I understand where you’re coming from with the Voxant issue. Until we can confirm that there is a real problem in receiving a payout from them, I see no harm sticking their news feeds on our sites. Like you said, if you had to pay for the licensing fees yourself to Ap, it’d cost much more - you get paid by Voxant for using AP now, and it’s ‘free’. Only trade off is the virtual estate used.

I also get that reporting issue. Am not totally sure how we can prove otherwise tho’. It could point to our end where the loading of the adverts do not go through, or simply they’re not giving us everything we deserve. :) Anyway to me their payout is ok for not having to do much work seriously - if you look at what Associated Content pays me for impression views - now that’s what I call low. lol!

I am still waiting for my first check from them. There payout is one if not the lowest in the market, but for Bu.bulicio.us is just icing on the cake because of the content provided in my blog.

I also have serious issues with there reporting system. For an example one of my days I had 27k plus page views one specific story had 2,895 I had a txt render from The News Room, according to the reporting system I only had 987 render, mmmmm lol the math does not add up.

Even though there are all these inconsistencies I will keep using them since I can use AP stories and videos, if I was to pay AP a monthly fee to use this I would be looking at over $500 a month, so it is still better to get this content for free.

I am also skeptical about them since I am still waiting to get paid. As soon as I get my check I will let you know.

Hey YC,

Great couple of posts. I have in past purchased many products that HAVE NOT made me rich. LOL

I think as the comment above. If it’s sounds like it would be worth giving a try - do. Especially with free material. With ebooks they always have a money back anyway.

My problem sometimes is that even after I purchase the ebook, it will sit on my shelf or in my hard drive and I don’t read it and use the info. Only me to blame for that. :oops:

I believe anykind of monetizing source is actually good. The matter is whether your blog suitable for that source or not. That’s why it will somehow work on you but not on other and reverse.

I suggest to keep tweaking-tweaking and tweaking to find the best conversion rate for you blog. I’m also tweaking my blog right now. Hope to find a suitable sources for monetizing my blog. :)

YC, I understand your cynicism because unfortunately, there are many unscrupulous players out there who want to help us part with our money without giving us much in return. I guess the bottom line is always caveat emptor whether it’s free or not!

To me, if something sounds reasonable try it, if not, then don’t waste your time.

Sometimes I am just plain lazy. And sometimes it’s not the laziness that prevent people from trying, it’s the amount of money and time invested. Many dodgy money making ebooks are asking the readers to purchase another tools or spend ridiculously amount of time doing grunt work.
