My first post here is to illustrate my own initial experience venturing into Internet Marketing, which I have noticed to be a common behaviour of many newbies (like I was back then). Many of us started wondering how Internet Marketing worked, what to do, and then putting much thought into what we wanted to do, but ended up spending too much time in that phase of thinking and planning. In the process, we became Internet Marketing information junkies, but not action takers.
Honestly, it took someone else’s results (a good friend of mine) to push my wish to make money online into action. I had been spending months trying to figure out Affiliate Marketing, and being a perfectionist, I wanted to do it right the moment I started. But now I fully understand that only when you apply action to your ideas, would they actually have a chance of being realised!
In the process, I actually made my FIRST ever affiliate sale in -less than a day- of putting the process into action, after waiting for months studying it. Of course, after that, the next step was trying to figure out how to make my next sale (yes - I had no sales for awhile after that first one).
But looking back, it was a valuable lesson in itself - put your plans into action! Do not wait too long! Perhaps many have grown up taught to be risk-adverse or to make sure everything should be perfect before jumping in. However, in the business of Internet Marketing, time is of an essence if you believe you have fresh ideas - you owe it to yourself to put them to the test.
On top of that, it also breeds another practise that many Internet Marketers preach, and which I personally recommend - and that is to never stop testing and tweaking your plans and ideas. The age-old adage of “If you never try, you’ll never know” speaks so much truth, and in order to find out if your next salescopy design or marketing idea will work, you have to test them out first!
So for any of you out there who is still wondering when the right time to start Internet Marketing should be, there is never a -right- or -best- time to start, except NOW! =)

1Agree. That’s what Michael Masterson who wrote the book automatic wealth said. He advised Ready, Fire, Aim !! Not the other way around. cos he said too many people keep trying to get the aim right and never fire. It is only when you fire that you can figure out how to re-adjust the aim to get a better hit !

2It’s a very common habit of many here in Singapore. Sometimes the culture and how we were schooled from young can be counter-productive.

3They are some interesting think pieces, especially, nternet Marketing Mind that you have posted on your blog. I\’m going to have to take the time to actually sift through them for some ideas. Thanks Again, James.
