Does Viral Linking Really Help?

Honestly, I do not know, but it seems to have helped quite a number of sites boost their Technorati and Google Page Ranks. These will help boost the visibility, traffic, and eventual marketing leverage of any Internet Marketer’s site.

So, instead of sitting around waiting for others to show if it definitely works, I am stepping in to do some testing of my own.

My Technorati Ranking is now an absolutely buoyant and healthy 500,785. In 2 weeks’ time, I will review this experiment and hopefully, with some of your help, we will see if it has helped improve my ranking (and yours too). You may also wish to do the same tracking, if you decide to participate.

Below are the instructions I snipped off Chessnoid’s site, which he copped off Blogging Mix’s site. I was slightly confused too, but got around to it eventually:

If you are looking for ways to improve your GOOGLE PAGE RANKING and TECHNORATI RANKING, I recommend that you give Viral Linking or Viral Tagging a chance. All you need to do is follow these four simple instructions and you’re on your way to increasing the number of links to your blog.

1.) Copy and paste the entire matrix of “ViralTags” below in a post on your blog, about the same topic.

2.) Substitute the Host Tag and one of the “ViralTags” in the matrix with your anchor text of choice containing your blog’s URL. Please keep anchor text to a maximum of 4 words to keep the matrix size manageable.

3.) When you get a ping back from someone that has your link in one of their “ViralTags”, practice good karma by copying his/her Host Tag’s anchor text (automatically the associated link will also be copied) and paste it over one of your “ViralTags” below.

4.) Encourage and invite your readers to do the same and soon this will grow virally.

The online advertising is attracting a lot of businesses and providing way to advertising agencies to flourish. People are using high speed internet to shop using the search engine marketing tools. The web site designers are offering cheap web site design and cheap hosting site facilities to attract maximum number of buyers. People have actually started a home business of marketing their services online and fulfilling orders all across the world sitting at home with their established contacts.

Hi YC,
This looks good. I would recommend using the more recent viral link I used on my last post, only because it has more links in it and it should increase your chances of getting more reciprocation. I also added you on as you requested. Good luck and I will check in 2 weeks to see where you are at.

Sorry. Don’t get how this works. I need to write a post on viral links and then copy and paste the whole lot of names at the bottom of the post ?

BTW, I read that submitting lots of articles all over seems to work with this viral thingy. It must have worked cos Google has suddenly found me though I have no idea how to find out ranks etc.

I’m skeptical about these things. When I see someone Techno rating is quite high due to lots of link trains, etc. I feel a bit wary of the blogger. Maybe that’s just me.

@ Karen - yes, basically write a post about viral linking and copy and paste the list of -links- here, and add yours to the mix. And yes, article marketing does help and it’s easier to do than most things actually. :)

@ Chessnoid & Emma - you’re both welcomed! :)

@ Angel - I used to think like that too - but there’re so many things you could do to get links, and honestly it’s not really about the rating or ranking, it’s to do with creating a wider reach. Paying for links could be viewed the same way. At the end of the day, you should try as many methods as you possibly can afford to, time or money.

It has made a big difference to my Make Money Blog as you saw when you visited. Also adding the “DoFollow” plugin also increased visitors as more people are curious to see how it works!

So far after 2 days my Techno authority and ranking have climbed up some, let’s see how it goes after 2 wks! But I was fascinated by your Alexa jumps - it isn’t that easy (so far) on Alexa since it requires browsers of a site to have that toolbar installed.
