My links are longer than that!

So, in an earlier post just over a week back, I set out to test how effective a link train would be in terms of improving a site’s Google PageRank and Technorati Ranking. Obviously my PageRank would not be known till Google’s next update, so my Technorati Ranking and Authority will be used as gauges instead. This is just a short update on the progress so far since then.

As of today, my Technorati Ranking has steamed towards 107,981, while my Authority has about doubled from 23 to 54. Technorati Authority is described as thus:

“… the number of blogs linking to a website in the last six months. The higher the number, the more Technorati Authority the blog has.”

I am not sure how I can check how many of the new links have been a result of the viral link train. However, I do know that my recent networking with other bloggers have contributed to this increase as well. A big Thank You to all who have helped expose my blog to their own and larger audience!

Partly as a result of this, my blog has also seen an increase in the number of visitors and readers. I am sure there are a few million other blogs with the same ranking now, but having been around for less than a month in the blogosphere, it is decent progress to have reached just over 100,000 so far. There are a couple of other reasons my Technorati Ranking has improved, and you can find out one of them here.

In all, things are moving fine and keeps me constantly motivated to improve while reaching out more to fellow bloggers and readers. The difficult part comes next in trying to break the top 100! Thanks again to Chessnoid for instigating this exchange =) and the other fine bloggers’ contributions. I will check back again on this topic in the next week!
