I have a mixed short bag this weekend, again due to my limited time available for reading blogs this past week. I still try to read widely, looking out for new blogs with great material for everyone out there. It is always good to focus, but learning from different areas is also key to broadening your horizons. You are bound to discover new ideas and methods that can be applied to your niche.
That said, most of what I have got today talks about making money online or something related to it.
Matt is a bright young chap and it can be obvious that he uses what he’s learning in school in blogging about making money online. A lot of that involves good decision making - a bad one might cost you millions. Here, he talks about 4 Steps Towards Successful Online Entrepreneurial Decision Making.
I have seen Karen Zara’s blog and she has a terrific blog with unique takes on the blogging aspect of things. She has also guest posted on Monika and Terry’s Blogging Web 2.0, with a humorous take on what her mom taught her about being a successful blogger.
On his journey to totally lay his day job to waste and join the mass ranks of people making their living online, Day Job Nuker tells you why you shouldn’t be intimidated about selling on Ebay. I agree - I’ve made some nice dosh in the past through Ebay. :)
Mike has had a year long journey attempting to find out if you can make money online using free blogs like those on Blogspot. I have seen countless times how it is unwise to do so and that you’re more likely to fail than succeed. But I still believe one can do so - it’s not the platform that is most important, but your attitude, decisions and effort. Mike has been doing a week-long review on his past year and basically disproving the theory. Read how he puts it all together for you.
Fancy making your living from freelance writing? I just came across ChrisBlogging.com and WOW! A fantastic resource for anyone wishing to make their living on the written word. But before you embark on that, find out if a career in freelance writing is right for you.
My love of gangster flicks is not well-known - I absolutely adore them! Reading Ben’s The Soprano Lessons on Blogging, it is no surprise as there are some similarities in how I handle my private life. You can apply it to your blogging empire as well - Ben’s light-hearted take on it is very relevant too! And no, I’m not in the waste business and I don’t own a couple of strip joints.
Finally, a good friend and regular commenter Zorka has had an article of hers featured on Peter’s blog. Peter shows how he can change your life and together with Zorka, they have put up a post on 7 Ways to Boost Your Mood and bring positivity and direction to your life! Many have found it enlightening, go check it out now!
I hope the weekend has been going well for y’all. England’s rugby team has gone the way of their football squad, but with enough true gusto and a total lack of prima donnas so I do hope they get their just recognition. Liverpool finally managed a win (and over Everton to boot!). I look forward to the Tribe making it to the World Series but it looks like another Boston Red Sox comeback is on the cards. Still… GO TRIBE!!!
