Blog Rush has been online for about half a week now. You have probably seen millions of Blog Rush posts asking you to join, all over the blogosphere. Heck, I did it too!
There has just been as many discussions on its merits, as well as grey areas that Blog Rush might be mired in for example:
Jim Kukral’s comments on Blog Rush has riled its creator John Reese so much, there was even a passionate defence from the latter posted.
For a new blogger like me, the idea of getting more traffic is always attractive. And for something that is essentially free, I would not mind testing it. And as promised to a good friend and fellow blogger, Dana, I have decided to post my fantastic results with Blog Rush so far:

Yes! After about 4 days of syndication, my blog has received one visitor from over 1,500 impressions in the widget across the Blog Rush network. This might not seem impressive (in fact, it isn’t), but it could be due to a number of reasons:
You can also learn how to avoid some Blog Rush mistakes here.
However, I am still encouraged by the fact that I did have 5 blogs who have graciously signed up under me, which means I will get the benefit of their traffic, low or high, through syndication credits. It is basically a game of numbers with such models and the more you can collect, the higher the probability of conversions. In fact, I would advise that getting a large number of referrals is the first key if Blog Rush is ever going to work for you. It goes 10 levels deep in referrals afterall.
Some other minor grouses that I have so far:

All in all, I would still put it up (unless the widget size issue cannot be fixed - I would rather my visitors have a better experience) and give it time before passing final judgement on its usefulness in traffic generation. Afterall, testing is essential in determining results.
It’s still not too late to join the Rush! =)

3“IE visitors to my site would notice my sidebars being skewed as a result.” Blog readers still use IE?! Just kidding!
Thanks for the follow-up. I have not checked today, but your numbers are similar to what I’ve seen…as of last night, 2 clicks. I haven’t spent a lot of time really looking into this whole BlogRush thing, but based on my current understanding of the system, I would wonder why we have similar numbers as I don’t have any referrals at all…as I said, I was pretty late to jump on the bandwagon and since most everyone who regularly reads my blogs had already written a Blogrush post, I didn’t think I could add much without any further research!
Anyway, I’m looking forward to watching Blogrush and the debate around it continue to evolve. Keep us updated!

6Well with the amount of random blogs posting about how amazing it is, I would think once they get their stuff sorted over at BlogRush, the traffic will be soon to follow. The problem with it though is it looks like an ad. I don’t see that box and think, Hm.. that probably has something I’d eat up. It’s more of a , Hm.. I wonder how much they get per click.
Just a thought.

7The only person I have heard a positive review from was John Chow, so I am starting to think that this will not work for the little guys!

8@ Dana - You’d be surprised - huge number of users here in Singapore are still on IE - blog readers or not. Heheheh! My impressions are rising steadily but no click-through. And John Reese just sent an email saying a huge cause are the blog post titles… I personally think it is only 1 of the many problems :)
@ Susan - Yeah it is really dominating blogs the past few days. I’m gonna stop talking about it for now. Oh look! “The Malaysian Restaurant” in my widget! Geez…
@ Alfred - That’s one way to look at it - it does look kinda fancy :) But really, unless I replace my “Recent Posts” section with it, I doubt it’ll generate much clickthru.
@ Thomas - Have not read JC’s review but it’s probably due the high impression nos. that he has - we’ll see how it goes for the smaller blogs :)

9A surprising number of Americans still use IE too…sad but true :)
@Alfred & YC I hadn’t put my finger on it, but that is one of my “not so sure” feelings about he Blogrush thing. It does look a lot like an ad box of some sort. Then again, I think the majority of my visitors are bloggers or very active readers in the blogosphere, so I would bet they have definitely heard about Blogrush in the last week and will know what it is. People probably used to think the MyBlogLog, BlogCatalog, etc. stuff looked weird or like ads until you saw them everywhere.

10My BlogRush stats were almost identical to yours. I’ve had a second click within the 5 days I’m using it. I think catchy titles is key, plus you never know just where your titles are being displayed (how many visitors the blog site has, etc). Good luck with it!

11@ Dana - it really depends on the response the public will have when Reese announces further plans on Blog Rush - what he really wants to do with it. It can’t all just be traffic provision :)
@ Monetizer - yeah really it goes down to random luck for blogs with lesser traffic. The big ones, they will have their posts displayed more often and everywhere, given the credits they will accumulate.

14I believe there is a contact form or email address that you can get via their site, Starfeeder. I emailed them through that, but well, -no- replies as yet. Better luck to you! :)
